I’ve decided to follow stuff news outlet, based in New Zealand, for this upcoming semester. One of the first things that inspired me to pick Stuff as the news source I’d be following was that in the US we can certainly get caught in a media bubble. I notice it with people who’ve lived in the US their whole lives and with myself as well when I live in the US for a long period. For this reason I think it would be beneficial for myself and for the purposes of bringing an interesting different perspective to the class. As for why I selected Stuff specifically within the New Zealand news realm, I knew it’s one of the most respected and reliable news sources in New Zealand, as well as being one of it’s largest and most followed sites.
